CLADU research is concerned with the analysis and design of the ultimate (collapse) limit state of structures and materials.

CLADU research is focussed towards developing tools to facilitate:

• rapid ultimate limit-state analysis of
  • complex structures (e.g. buildings, bridges etc.)
  • solids (e.g. layered soils supporting foundations, metal extrusion problems etc.)

• practical design synthesis of large structural frames (e.g. sports stadia roofs, transmission towers etc.)
